Gris Gris Beach

The Gris Gris Beach is one of the most beautiful view point and landscape in the south of Mauritius Island. Gris Gris is in the Savanne District near Souillac Village, This particular beach have a very beautiful beach and some very high cliff also, many movies and video clip have been shot here. Its a nice place for a family Pic-nic and camping around with lots of shops and facility, Have a look to these Photo above and a visit is a must.

JUMBO (The Big), JUMBO Score Commercial Center-Rich Terre, Another Hypermarket and Shopping Mall in Mauritius. This International brand is one of the most popular shopping site and Food courts in Mauritius, With its one large and long building layout, Jumbo Riche Terre have the best shop branding in the North where from shop or food court like, KFC, Pizza Hut, Courts Shop, Sony World, East Sider, Barclays Bank, Histoire D'amoure, MCB ATM, 4 Play, Kids world and many other good shop. Its also have one of the biggest parking facility in the Region. So a visit and a little shopping would be a good idea...

Ile Aux Cerfs - Deer Island

 

Ile aux Cerfs, Deer Island in English, very fun name because we don't see any deers on the island anymore, may there was 50 years ago lol :), well after a great time to the river of Grand River South East it time to see this beautiful island, of course you can get there by normal boat, Speed Boat or even Helicopter if you have enough money, this island have a Five star Hotel (The Touessrok Hotel) with it Golf course and every facility that a five star hotel can offer.

This Island has a unique beauty  compare to other island of Mauritius, its Turquoise Blue Beach and White sand and a mix of Natural landscape and man made structure. Tourist and local are both welcome with all kind of trip package from traveling and food arrangement until the end of the day. The Hotel also organize there own trip on ship. 

Several water sports activities are also available on the island like para-sailing and scuba diving. The Island can be access from the Trou d'Eau Douc village where taxi boat do the go and return all day round. So a visit is a must to Ile aux Cerfs and don't forget to buy your souvenir gift from the Island Craft shop. Before closing don't  forget to visit Ilot Mangenie where the natural landscape is still preserve, Enjoy....

Grand River South East / Grand Riviera Sud Est

So after the North of the island, let have a round to the South East coast, We have pass by this River before going to Ile aux Cerf, in a small boat or speed boat it no matter to visit this lovely place, This fisherman village Grand River South East  is the start of adventure. So sit back 
watch these lovely picture of one of the best Water Fall in Mauritius Island.

Strange, Famous Flies and Bugs

Hi Friends, Good news I have start posting again, after a long break OF
BLOGGING due to change of work location, there is a lot of photo taken
that is ready to be upload. Am still very tight on time but will try to post

This Yellow Wasp is very famous in Mauritius and Mauritian life's, I thinks almost

every Mauritian have taste the Sting of the incredible insect and its very 

painful it can hurt for days so watch and don't mess with it nest and stay far. away.

 

This Little Grasshopper seen to lost his half body in a fight and it looks like an alien!

Strange that it does not have wings :O

Spiders, looks horrible but these in Mauritius is not toxic, from small to big one

they are always around house, trees and almost every corner of the island.

This colorful night fly was standing on my yard floor, took this closeup picture

at night. People say it very bad the dust of its wing enter in your eye,

so we never know.

Another strange Grasshopper now this one have its wings.

Stick Insects are long thin and look very odds, they can stay immobile

for hours and even days, they can vary for size, form and colors, not so

famous in Mauritius and rarely seen due to there camouflage 

capabilities of blending into the nature, hope you have enjoy these little

Custard Apple and Palm Fruit

Hi friends,..I will start with infomation about some famous Mauritian tropical

fruits, As many of my readers have said that this is missing on my blog, so

here is some info about some rip,sweet,colourful, healthy and juicy fruits.

As the climate is very warm and rainy for a long time fruits in Mauritius

has a very nice advantage of been one of the best quality in the world,

some of them we can get it almost in any season and any month of the year,..

Lets start with the most popular I will try to remenber the maximum ok,.....

Banana, Coconut, Papaya, Pineapple, Mango, Guyava, Lemon, Lychee,

Longan, Melon,Tamarind, Water Melon, Carambol(Star Fruit), Strawberry,

Orange, Peanut, Avocado, Grenadilla, Mandarin, Citron, Olive, Custard

Apple, Grapefruit, Bilimbi and many many more, sorry may be I have forget

some of them, So if you think that I miss some please do comment on this

post and check out some of the Snap I have taken in the Local Garden

Grenade

Carambol (Starfruit)

This is Sweet but very sometime the opposite, well also know as (Averrhoa Carambola)

is very famous in Mauritius and Native to other Countries like India, Sri Lanka

and Indonesia,..specially known as Superfruits its is very good for its Vatamin C,

Bright coloured, Vivid green to Bright Yellow and very particular in Shapes(STAR).

It's best to consume a Starfruit when ripe. An unripe fruit will appear bright green,

while a ripe Starfruit will display colors of bright yellow with a light shade of green.

They also do Pickles in Mauritius, very tasty, try some when having a visit to

MAURITIUS....

Guyava (Chinese Guayava)

This particular guayava is origin from China (of course), well its really a nice
guayava type because in Mauritius we make JAM with this, yes jam made of this
Redish fruit, you boil it in hot water for about 20 mins, let boil for more
10 mins let the boiling water dry a bit, after that remove and let cool down,
Filter & squeeze all the peels and seeds with a piece of cloths,then add sugar
let cool and your sweet Guayava jam is ready...lots of people like this guayava
just natural and some like it with some salt chilli mix.....
